Lyfairs designs long, vertical crystal chandeliers for double-height staircases, two-story stairwells, and spiral staircases. A staircase chandelier is different from any other fixture in the home — it hangs in a tall, narrow space and is seen from multiple floors at once. Every Lyfairs staircase chandelier can be customized in drop length, diameter, and finish — handcrafted to fit the exact height of your stairwell.

How to Choose a Staircase Chandelier

Drop length is the most important measurement. A staircase chandelier should travel down through the open stairwell so it is visible from both the lower floor and the upper landing. As a general guide, the fixture should fill roughly the upper two-thirds of the open vertical space, with the bottom kept safely above head height on the stairs.

For standard two-story stairwells: Vertical-drop, cascading, or multi-tier designs work best, filling the height without crowding the staircase itself.

For spiral and curved staircases: Cascading spiral designs follow the curve of the stairs and look balanced from every step and landing.

For tall or unusually shaped stairwells: Drop length can be fully customized, so the chandelier is made to the exact height of your space rather than adapted to a standard size.

How long should a staircase chandelier be?

Drop length is the key measurement for a staircase chandelier.
