Lately I keep thinking about the word language.
Social media has grown so vast that many truths, many things the great figures once said, ordinary people can now say too. Sometimes anyone around you can offer up a whole string of wisdom, and it really does sound quite right.
But slowly I noticed something. Though the words are the same, the great remain great, and the ordinary remain ordinary.
Why is that?
Because language can be learned, and imitated. But the person behind the language cannot. The same sentence, spoken by someone who has truly walked that road and borne those things, carries weight. Spoken by someone who has only heard it and memorized it, it is hollow.
The words are the same words, but the person speaking them is not.
I thought of the road Lyfairs has walked these past years.
In the beginning, we drew many customers through the beauty of crystal chandeliers, through the image of a person standing beneath a great light. That was a language of ours, a visual language.
But these past two years, more and more others began to learn it. They film the same beautiful videos, post them to social media, run the same ads. Our images have been taken and used. That visual language we first spoke has slowly become words everyone is saying.
Honestly, at first it didn't sit well with me. But later I understood. This is really the same as an ordinary person speaking a great figure's words.
They can learn the beautiful visuals, just as anyone can memorize a great person's lines. But what they cannot learn is the thing behind those visuals.
It is me. It is the real projects I've done over these years, the real customers I've served. It is my feeling for beauty, the notes I've written, the care of choosing and watching over each piece with my own hands. It is the sincerity of treating our customers as our own.
A beautiful image can be stolen. But these cannot. Because they aren't a technique, they are the way a person, and a brand, have truly lived.
So I've come to see it clearly. From here on, Lyfairs will speak a new language.
Not the kind of beautiful visual language anyone can imitate. But a language no one can ever learn away. It is truth, it is who I am, it is our craft, and the things we believe in.
Beautiful visuals still matter, but they are only a doorway. What truly makes a customer stay, and trust us, is that thing behind the doorway, the thing that cannot be taken.
We won these first years with a visual language. From here, I want to walk a longer road with this deeper one. Because a beautiful image can be carried off, but the way a person has truly lived can only ever belong to her.
